Deep Talk: Book a G42 Expert
BEDA member organisations can book a G42 expert for a conference, symposium or consultation, and MADres covers €1040 per booking. MADres offers five bookings for 2027, with five more available in 2028. Applications are assessed on how well the event links to the MADres pillars (Accessibility, AI & Ethics, Planetary Design and Design Business) and on its expected audience reach.

Second Call for Glorious 42 Experts
After strong interest in the first round, BEDA is reopening the call for the G42, a network of leading design experts from across Europe. G42 experts are central to the content and impact of MADres. Their contributions shape the programme’s intellectual and practical foundation. G42 experts give Deep Talks, coach designers, speak at the BEDA Design Forum and help shape design policy at European level.
Nominations are open in two sets of fields.
MADres fields:
- Accessibility and Low-Barrier Design
- Artificial Intelligence & Ethics
- Planetary and Eco Design
- Strategic Business Case Development
BEDA fields:
- Democracy Design
- Design Research, Social Design
- Public Design
- New Materials & Tech Conversion
- Innovation by Design
- Design Leadership
Experts can’t apply themselves. They must be nominated by a BEDA member organisation. Following guidance from the MADres funding authority, we are currently unable to include new experts based in the UK in this call.

Why Nominate?
Selected experts help shape MADres and represent European design expertise at EU level.
For member organisations: A successful nomination gives the member’s country and design community a voice in EU design policy. It also brings the member closer to a network of experts that BEDA members can book for their own events with MADres funding.
For experts: G42 experts join an exclusive European network that offers new business opportunities, visibility through BEDA’s channels and the chance to advise the European Commission.
Who Can Take Part?
Only BEDA member organisations can book a Deep Talk or nominate a G42 expert. If you are a designer or design organisation and would like to be considered, please contact the BEDA member association in your country. You can find the full list of members here.
